As a result of their experience and qualifications in this field of law, Mr. Siegel has been Board Certified by the Florida Bar in Business Litigation since 1998 and Mr. Hughes has been Board Certified by the Florida Bar in Business Litigation since 2011. Mr. Siegel and Mr. Hughes have continuously maintained their certification in Business Litigation and are the only two Board Certified Business Litigators in the Eighth Judicial Circuit of Florida, which encompasses Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Gilchrist, Levy and Union Counties.
Additionally, Mr. Ross has been Board Certified as a Civil Trial Lawyer since 1992. To earn Board Certification a lawyer must meet stringent experience requirements, pass a specialized test administered by the Florida Bar, and must complete continuing legal education classes in the field of specialization beyond what is required to maintain standard Bar licensure.
In addition to experience and expertise with the complex legal framework surrounding business litigation, Siegel Hughes Ross & Collins also understands the practical considerations of our clients’ day-to-day business operations. Such understanding comes from working with our business clients regarding many varied legal situations and problems, as well as from the actual business experience of some of the firm’s attorneys and staff. Mr. Siegel was a founding fiduciary director and served on the Board of an FDIC insured bank, chartered by the State of Florida, until it’s purchase by a larger bank. Thereafter he served as a fiduciary board member of another FDIC insured bank which was later purchased by a larger bank.
